School Pictures 2010

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

Homeschooling, I haven’t talked much about it yet.  Not for a lack of enjoying or disliking what I have embarked on, rather the time it takes out of me.  Time is something I never had enough of, now that I have added being a home school parent to the list of 1,000,000 things to do in a day it definitely takes the rest our free time away.  My camera, however, has been right there all along to document everything.  There is just no time to download, edit or post anything lately.

I will get to it because as I have heard – inquiring minds want to know if in fact I am losing mine (mind that is).

Since we are walking the path less taken we let the boys decide what they wanted to do for this years school photos instead of the basic blue back ground in uniform…oh.so…dull.

Logan’s artictic vision…Rock Star!  All the way down to the outfit and hair, this was his request.

And for that “rockin’ melt your face off” pose

Isaac, nothing better than being a jedi knight.

And for a little variation and to take advantage of the changing leaves they whined kindly agreed to let me shoot a couple more.

Isaac

and Logan

I’m sure we will get out there again and snap up more of the amazing fall colors here.  It is the first time for me anyway to capture fall the way I always imagined it would be.

Back to our trip…

8:00am on a holiday, she looks pretty well adjusted for her first week in college.  Since we were not home to properly send her off to school we had to come check out her new place and take her out for the day.

But not before we took a little tour of the campus and double-dog dared her to ring the large liberty bell in the center of campus.

It.Was.Loud.

So we took off before campus security caught us and headed for none other than New York!

Whodathunk that 2 Texans on Holiday from Canada would love NY so much – fuhgetaboutit!

So we checked out the local grub to see if it was all that it was cracked up to be

Yup the food made them all a little silly…wait I really should not blame NY food just sugar in general!

Then we hit the streets…

Yup Niagara, as in Falls!

Water Water everywhere – and that’s CANADA across the way, talk about a long way to go a short distance, of course it’s Ontario instead of Alberta.  Someone left their passport in the dorm, but we weren’t in a hurry to leave the US anyway.

It didn’t take long for J-Man to be unimpressed with it all…

It had been several hours since the peeps back at school had an update.

This post brought to you by iPhone4, now with 25% more ways to waste time.

Just got done telling the peeps how cool it is to hang out with two awesome 6 year olds?

and an awesome 20 month old!

We loved our day with you K!  Thanks for letting us hang out with you!!

And if you ever need Togan Lomas to scare those college boys away we’re only 3 provinces, a great lake, and a border crossing away.  Now get your homework done!

Rat Infestation…

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Yup, rats

Running all over my house.

The twins have decided that a Zhu Zhu Pets were the perfect thing to spend their recycling money on.  Now these critters are running wild all over the house.

Thankfully they don’t eat more than a “double A” battary and have yet to poop in our house.

Labor Day – deux jours

Monday, September 13th, 2010

Ok day two on our mini-holiday…can I say that now that I live in Canada?

Going on “holiday” sounds funny.

Never-mind, here are the pictures to our big trip to the northern states, Yee-Haw Ya’ll! (yep that is how Harry would say it!)

So after the adults got exhausted watching 4 kids under the age of 7 run around the house we decided to get them outside and run them around a bit so we headed to Springhouse Farms, a local dairy farm.  Lots for the kids to run around and do until the dads discovered they had homemade ice cream..

Isaac’s favorite flavor – Worms

E, you have a twin!

ok so they all had a great time eating their ice-cream

while this one slept…we’re not going to get away with that for much longer.

We’re such good parents, we gave already wild kids more sugar to drive us over the crazy edge.  Wait, this was the Dad’s idea…

We had an awesome time exploring Washington, PA and were so happy to spend time with our dear friends.

We miss you all so much!

This month marks 10 years this one and I have been great friends…

I promise we will see each other again real soon!!

Labor Day Vacation – Day 1

Friday, September 10th, 2010

Vacations in the Grilliot family are either planned years in advance or on a whim, both of which I’m perfectly happy with. We decided to head back to the states and visit our dear friends who moved to Pennsylvania almost a year ago and my sweet niece who just started college there…

Like usual my face was stuck to my camera and I took a lot of pictures so this post will have to be broken up into a couple days.

As a bonus we got to visit a couple local celebrities too…you know like George Washington and Franco Harris

Friends that can tolerate time and distance only to pick up where you left off are the best…

The boys had a great time bowling…

and laughing together…

Stay tuned for Day 2’s favorite photo picks…but here is my favorite “pick” of the night 🙂
