Doing Southern Things



Drinking mint ice tea in your veggie garden on a Sunday afternoon, it is all southern utopia to me.

Harry pulled weeds and picked fresh collards that we ate that night for dinner accompanied by honey cornbread and pork ribs.  The first batch of radishes were also harvested.


mayjar004The garden is such a happy place for us these days, everything is taking off.

Strawberries are in season here in the Upstate, although our own strawberry patch has not fully ripened yet we were able to score a gallon of the sweetest berries from the Farmers Market, Downtown Greenville on Saturday.

mayjar001We like berries around here but I also knew we could not possibly eat them all before they started to go bad..


So we turned them into our first batch of summer jam.


Yup, life is good.
